TerraFirma Webinar: Climate Change and Coastal Hazards -South Coast

TerraFirma Webinar: Climate Change and Coastal Hazards -South Coast

Terrafirma will be hosting a webinar on our behalf on Wednesday 21st April 2021 from 10-10.30am. Within this webinar, Maura Partridge, Head of Searches and Geologist at Terrafirma, will be guiding us through case studies and providing us with local statistics. So that we can gain a greater understanding of the ground risks in our area.

Did you know that along the Dorset and Somerset coastlines, in the Wessex area:

2,800 properties are at risk from coastal retreat over the next 100 years where there is No Active Intervention at all.

There are 1,600 properties at risk from coastal retreat over the next 50 years if there is No Active Intervention at all.

Only 31 properties are at risk from coastal retreat over the next 20 years, assuming the current Shoreline Management Plans (SMPs) are implemented during this period.

If these current (20 year) SMPs were abandoned tomorrow, 800 properties would be at risk.

The webinar will be split into two sections, a 20-minute presentation followed by a 10-minute Q&A opportunity.

You can register your space now!

Last year, Terrafirma added coastal hazards into their ground search at no extra cost. You can find out more about this product on our site here

We really hope that you will be able to attend!
